Statement from Cloud Innovation

Date: 26 June 2025

On behalf of Cloud Innovation, we express our significant concern regarding the recent suspension and subsequent annulment of the AFRINIC Board election. We acknowledge and appreciate AFRINIC's intention to preserve electoral integrity and transparency; however, the unprecedented decision to annul the election raises critical concerns.

Many AFRINIC members have been unable to fully exercise their legitimate voting rights due to these unexpected actions. Furthermore, it is essential to highlight that neither suspension nor annulment of the election process appears explicitly supported by the existing court mandate, AFRINIC's Bylaws, or the official election guidelines.

While we commend AFRINIC's commitment to addressing concerns transparently and ensuring the legitimacy of the election outcomes, we strongly encourage AFRINIC and the responsible authorities to carefully reconsider actions that may inadvertently disenfranchise compliant members. It remains imperative that all decisions adhere strictly to established legal frameworks and organizational guidelines.

Cloud Innovation continues to support fairness, transparency, and accountability within AFRINIC’s governance and electoral processes. We remain available and committed to collaborative engagement to resolve this matter effectively and justly.

Sincerely,

Cloud Innovation
